Just wanna put the word out - Beck's website has been a musical Disneyland lately - you can't do it all in one day, and it's probably a completely different experience on PSPs. Within the expanse is Beck's 'Record Club' project where once a month, he and whoever's around (the collaborators list has so far inluded members of Wilco, MGMT, Jamie Lidel, Feist, Devendra Banheart and Giovanni Ribissi!) rerecord an entire album in one day, and then release fisished videos with the final product throughout the month. So far they've covered The Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen and Fleetwood Mac's Skip Spence. Torrents of the final product in audio have recently become available. Awesome stuff, lots of fun. The man who finally gave us an excuse for this covers edition. In case you hadn't heard, Genesis used to be cool, until approximately the time when this weirdo left the band and Phil "Su-Su-Sudio"" Collins started helping them become... easier. Peter's been busy running a worldbeat music empire, but took some time to bang out a record of gorgeous covers of a worthy collection of nowish names including Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Bowie, Magnetic Fields and Elbow. So... that's pretty cool. I mean - what must it be like to be Justin Vernon of Bon Iver hearing 'Flume' get covered by Peter Gabriel. Chills! Check it out.
